Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

n8n-nodes-scrapehero

This is an n8n community node for accessing ScrapeHero Marketplace APIs. It allows you to scrape data from popular e-commerce platforms, real estate websites, search engines, travel sites, and review platforms directly within your n8n workflows.

Note: A valid ScrapeHero Marketplace API key is required to use this node.

Installation

Community Node Installation (Recommended after npm publication)

  1. Open your n8n instance.
  2. Go to Settings > Community Nodes.
  3. Select Install.
  4. Enter n8n-nodes-scrapehero in the package name field.
  5. Agree to the risks and select Install.

Note: npm installation applies after the package is published to npm.

Local Development / Manual Installation

To install and link this node locally in your n8n development environment:

git clone https://github.com/scrapehero/n8n-nodes-scrapehero.git
cd n8n-nodes-scrapehero
npm install
npm run build
npm link

Then, in your custom n8n directory:

npm link n8n-nodes-scrapehero

Credentials

To configure the ScrapeHero API credential:

  1. Obtain your API key from the ScrapeHero Marketplace.
  2. In n8n, create a new credential of type ScrapeHero API.
  3. Paste your API key into the API Key field.
  4. Save the credential.

Usage

  1. Add the ScrapeHero node to your canvas.
  2. Select your ScrapeHero API credential.
  3. Select the desired API operation from the dropdown (e.g., Amazon Product Details and Pricing API).
  4. Fill in the required parameters.
  5. Execute the node to retrieve scraped JSON data.

Directory Structure

  • nodes/ScrapeHero/ - Main node declaration (ScrapeHero.node.ts and ScrapeHero.node.json)
  • credentials/ - Credential definition (ScrapeHeroApi.credentials.ts)

Authentication

Authentication is handled securely using n8n's this.helpers.httpRequestWithAuthentication function and the defined scrapeHeroApi credential. The API key is attached to request query parameters (x-api-key) and is never hardcoded or exposed in workflow nodes.


Compatibility

  • Tested against n8n community node specification v1.0.0+
  • Requires n8n v1.0.0 or higher.
