Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

n8n-nodes-treg

An n8n community node for Treg, the agent-tool catalog and credential proxy.

Included operations

  • Search Catalog
  • Get Endpoint
  • Call Endpoint or a team-owned tool
  • Get Call Result
  • Get Balance
  • List Calls

Paid calls use a required per-call cost ceiling. The output includes the response body under data and billing/audit information under _treg, including the actual cost and X-Treg-Call-Id.

Credentials

Create a Treg API credential in n8n with:

  • API Token: a Treg token for the intended team
  • Base URL: https://treg.to unless using a self-hosted registry
  • Organization Slug: only needed when an identity token belongs to several teams

For unattended workflows, an org-scoped agent token is preferable to a human identity token.

Local installation

Do not install while a crucial n8n execution is running. When a restart is safe:

cd ~/.n8n/nodes
npm install /absolute/path/to/n8n-nodes-treg-0.1.0.tgz

Restart n8n after installation so it discovers the new credential and node.

Call safety

  • Maximum Cost (USD) is sent as X-Treg-Route-Max-Cost on every call.
  • Idempotency Key can safely retry the same request without paying twice.
  • _treg.costMicro is the settled cost; catalog prices are estimates.
  • _treg.callId should be kept for audit and result recovery.
  • List Calls is operational history, not an invoice source.
