Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

n8n-nodes-vibeexe-crawler

Vibe Website Crawler is an n8n community node for reliable website URL discovery, text extraction, and HTML extraction. It combines homepage links with sitemap discovery and can optionally use Playwright for JavaScript-rendered websites.

Installation

Install the package from your n8n community nodes settings using:

npm install n8n-nodes-vibeexe-crawler

Operations

Vibe Website Crawler supports:

  • Extract Links: Discovers and normalizes same-domain URLs from homepage anchors and, when enabled, sitemap files.
  • Extract Text: Extracts visible text, title, and meta description from a webpage.
  • Extract HTML: Retrieves the webpage's HTML source.

Link discovery

The Extract Links operation supports two discovery modes:

  • Knowledge (default): Keeps the homepage first, then selects company, contact, help, service, shipping, returns, policy, store, tracking, and similar knowledge pages. Product, collection, blog, cart, account, job, event, and forum routes are excluded.
  • All: Returns all valid same-domain homepage and sitemap URLs without knowledge filtering.

Sitemap behavior

When Use Sitemap is enabled, the node merges homepage links with URLs discovered from:

  • Sitemap: directives in /robots.txt
  • /sitemap.xml
  • /sitemap_index.xml
  • /wp-sitemap.xml
  • Nested sitemap indexes

Sitemap discovery is best-effort: missing, blocked, invalid, oversized, or timed-out sitemap responses do not fail a successful homepage crawl. Discovery is bounded by file, response-size, time, redirect, and internal candidate safety limits.

Maximum URLs

Maximum URLs controls the final number of returned URLs and accepts values from 1 to 5,000, with a default of 100. The limit is applied after homepage and sitemap candidates are normalized, prioritized, merged, and deduplicated. The output includes homepage, sitemap, selected-link, and candidate-limit statistics.

Playwright resource warning

Enable Use Browser (Playwright) only when a website requires JavaScript rendering. Browser crawling consumes substantially more CPU and memory than normal HTTP crawling and requires a compatible Playwright browser executable and system libraries in the n8n environment. For most server-rendered sites and sitemap discovery, leave it disabled.

Credentials

No credentials are required to use this node.

Compatibility

The package requires Node.js 18.10 or newer. Compatibility with a specific n8n release also depends on that release's community-node runtime.
