Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Render your Notion content through your Angular application as a CMS. Possible uses:

  • 💡 Write your blog
  • 🚀 Showcase your projects
  • 📄 Write documentation

Huge thanks to react-notion, this library simulates much of what they have previously created with React. ❤️

This package doesn't handle the communication with the API. Check out notion-api-worker for an easy solution.

Table of Contents

  1. Type of content
  2. Get started
  3. Global Options
  4. Supported blocks

Type of content

You can display any content you want and configure your style to your liking. But we offer you these two options by default:

  • Post: which allows you to use all the potential of Notion to write your best articles.
  • Project: to showcase your projects in an attractive visual format.

For both, only the styles change, the components are the same:

  • Notion databases: display multiple items
  • Notion pages: display the content in blocks for each item.

Get started

npm install ngx-notion-cms

# Optional if need to display highlighted code blocks
npm install ngx-highlightjs

Import the providers in your app.config.ts

import { globalSettingsProvider } from 'ngx-notion-cms';
import { provideHttpClient } from '@angular/common/http';

export const appConfig: ApplicationConfig = {
    providers: [
        provideHttpClient(),
        globalSettingsProvider({}), //you can pass global settings here,
    ],
};

Tailwind

If you want to use the default Tailwind classes you must import this in your styles.css

@import 'ngx-notion-cms/styles';

Code Highlight

If you are going to use code blocks ``ngx-notion-cmsusesngx-hightlightsjs` under the hood. Here is the configuration:

import { globalSettingsProvider } from 'ngx-notion-cms';
import { provideHttpClient } from '@angular/common/http';
import { provideHighlightOptions } from 'ngx-highlightjs';

export const appConfig: ApplicationConfig = {
    providers: [
        provideHttpClient(),
        globalSettingsProvider({}), //you can pass global settings here,
        provideHighlightOptions({
            fullLibraryLoader: () => import('highlight.js'),
            lineNumbersLoader: () => import('ngx-highlightjs/line-numbers'),
        }),
    ],
};

Example

Add database component

Add page component

Global Options

By default, global options are configured that are easily modified. For example, in case we want the images of the articles in the databases to not be displayed:

import { globalSettingsProvider } from 'ngx-notion-cms';

export const appConfig: ApplicationConfig = {
    providers: [
        // ....
        globalSettingsProvider({
            cacheOptions: {
                stateTime: 100000,
                storeInCache: true,
            },
            database: {
                showImage: false,
            },
            page: {
                showTableOfContents: true,
            },
        }),
    ],
};

Supported Blocks

Most common block types are supported. We happily accept pull requests to add support for the missing blocks.
