Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

NIOS (Nicolas Intelligent Orchestration System) — AI-Orchestrated System for Full Stack Development.

A meta-framework that orchestrates AI agents to handle complex development workflows using Claude Code as the runtime engine.

Quick Start

npx nios-core --help

Or install globally:

npm install -g nios-core
nios --help

What is NIOS?

NIOS is a framework of 32 specialized AI agents organized into 7 squads that work together to handle the full software development lifecycle — from product requirements to deployment.

Squads

| Squad | Agents | Focus | |-------|--------|-------| | Product | 4 | Strategy, PRDs, stories, validation | | Engineering | 5 | Implementation, architecture, deploy, QA | | Design | 6 | UX/UI, brand, design systems, motion, content, research | | Governance | 2 | Framework governance, orchestration | | Marketing | 6 | Content, SEO, email, sales | | DevSecOps | 5 | Security, compliance, auditing | | Data & AI | 4 | AI/ML, BI, data pipelines |

Key Agents

  • @dev (Dex) — Full-stack implementation
  • @architect (Aria) — System architecture
  • @pm (Morgan) — Product management, PRDs
  • @qa (Quinn) — Testing, quality gates
  • @devops (Gage) — CI/CD, releases
  • @nios-master (Orion) — Framework orchestration

CLI Commands

nios workers search "json transformation" # Search reusable workers
nios workers list --category=data # List workers by category
nios manifest validate # Validate manifest files
nios qa run # Run quality gates
nios qa status # QA status
nios metrics show # Show quality metrics
nios config show # Show configuration
nios mcp setup --with-defaults # Setup MCP servers
nios generate prd --title "Feature X" # Generate documents
nios migrate --dry-run # Preview migrations
nios doctor                                 # System diagnostics

How It Works

NIOS installs as a .nios-core/ directory inside your project. Claude Code reads the agent definitions, tasks, templates, and workflows to provide structured development assistance.

Story-Driven Development

All development follows a structured lifecycle:

@sm (create story) → @po (validate) → @dev (implement) → @qa (quality gate) → @devops (deploy)

Agent Activation

Agents are activated with @agent-name syntax inside Claude Code:

@dev implement the login feature
@qa run quality gate for story 2.1
@architect review the database schema
