Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

NodeBB Topic Author & OP Badge

A comprehensive, lightweight, and modern NodeBB plugin that displays the Topic Author in a dedicated header bar at the top of topics, and highlights the author with an OP (Original Poster) badge in all their replies throughout the thread.

Features

  • Topic Author Top Bar:
    • Displays creator's avatar, username with profile link, topic post date, and reputation points.
    • Optional Quick Chat button (💬 פנה לפותח הדיון בצ'אט) to initiate a direct message immediately.
  • OP Badge in Replies:
    • Automatically identifies when the thread starter replies to the topic.
    • Injects a customizable badge (✍️ פותח השרשור) right next to their name in their replies.
  • Full ACP Management:
    • Dedicated ACP dashboard under Plugins -> Topic Author.
    • Toggle top bar on/off.
    • Toggle OP badge on/off.
    • Customize badge label and choose color themes (Primary, Success, Info, Warning, Purple, Dark).
    • Modern green button feedback upon saving.
  • Full NodeBB v3 & v4 Compatibility:

Installation

npm install nodebb-plugin-topic-author

Activate the plugin in the NodeBB Admin Control Panel (ACP) under Plugins > Manage Plugins, then rebuild and restart NodeBB.
