Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

nona-cli

v4.1.0

Published

CLI for Nona key management, remote config, and feature flags.

Readme

nona-cli

Command-line interface for Nona — an open-source, self-hosted remote configuration and feature flag service. Nona is a Firebase Remote Config alternative you run yourself: one REST API, any language, Docker-first, and Apache 2.0 licensed.

Use the CLI to manage projects, environments, config entries, and feature flags from your terminal — and to migrate from Firebase Remote Config with a single command.

  • Website: https://nonaconfig.com
  • Source & documentation: https://github.com/Ryware/nona-config

Install

npm install -g nona-cli

On Windows you can also install via Chocolatey:

choco install nona-cli

Both install the nona command.

Authenticate

nona auth login # open a browser to log in and save a session
nona auth whoami # show the current session
nona auth logout # remove the saved session

Projects

nona projects list
nona projects create

Config entries and feature flags

Config entries are key-value pairs scoped to a project environment. A feature flag is simply an entry with a boolean value.

# List every entry in an environment
nona entries list --project my-app --environment production

# Read one entry
nona entries get --project my-app --environment production --key checkout_v2

# Create or update an entry (a feature flag here)
nona entries set --project my-app --environment production --key checkout_v2 --value true

# Delete an entry
nona entries delete --project my-app --environment production --key checkout_v2

entries set also accepts --scope (client, server, or all) and --content-type.

API keys

nona keys list --project my-app
nona keys create --project my-app

Migrate from Firebase Remote Config

nona migrate firebase

Imports your existing Firebase Remote Config parameters into Nona, so you can move off the hosted service without re-creating your configuration by hand.

Saved defaults

Avoid repeating common flags by saving defaults:

nona config set
nona config show

Run nona --help or nona <command> --help for the full list of commands and options.

Requirements

  • Node.js 18 or newer
