Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Installation

Usage

Basic Usage

# Find packages that depend on express
npm-revdeps express

# Find packages that depend on react
npm-revdeps react

Advanced Options

# Output as JSON
npm-revdeps express --json

# Filter by minimum downloads (e.g., 1000+ downloads)
npm-revdeps express --min-downloads 1000

# Limit results to top 10
npm-revdeps express --limit 10

# Sort by name instead of downloads
npm-revdeps express --sort name

# Combine options
npm-revdeps express --min-downloads 5000 --limit 20 --sort downloads

Command Line Options

Usage: npm-revdeps [options] [package]

Arguments:
  package                        npm package name to query

Options:
  -V, --version                  output the version number
  -j, --json                     output as JSON
  -m, --min-downloads <number>   filter by minimum downloads
  -l, --limit <number>           limit number of results
  -s, --sort <type>              sort results by: downloads, name (default: "downloads")
  -h, --help                     display help for command

Programmatic Usage

You can also use npm-revdeps as a library in your Node.js projects:
