Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

NS FiveM React Boilerplate

A modern template for developing FiveM NUI interfaces using React, TypeScript, Vite, and TailwindCSS.

✨ Features

  • React 19 with TypeScript
  • Vite for fast builds and hot reload
  • TailwindCSS 4.0 for styling
  • Custom hooks for FiveM NUI integration
  • ESLint configured for React
  • Project structure optimized for FiveM
  • Visibility provider for interface management

🚀 Quick Start

You can create a new project using this template in two ways:

Method 1: Using npx (recommended)

npx ns-fivem-react-boilerplate my-fivem-resource
cd my-fivem-resource
npm install

Method 2: Manual clone

git clone https://github.com/Nebula-Studios/ns-fivem-react-boilerplate.git my-fivem-resource
cd my-fivem-resource
rm -rf .git
npm install

🛠️ Available Scripts

# Start development server
npm start

# Build for development with watch mode (for FiveM)
npm run start:game

# Production build
npm run build

# Preview build
npm run preview

🎯 FiveM Usage

1. Development

During development, use:

npm run start:game

This command will build the project in watch mode, automatically updating files when you make changes.

2. NUI Communication

The template includes hooks and utilities for communicating with the FiveM client:

useNuiEvent Hook

import { useNuiEvent } from "./hooks/useNuiEvent";

function MyComponent() {
  useNuiEvent<{ message: string }>("showNotification", (data) => {
    console.log(data.message);
  });

  return <div>My Component</div>;
}

fetchNui Utility

import { fetchNui } from "./utils/fetchNui";

const handleClick = async () => {
  try {
    const response = await fetchNui<{ success: boolean }>("myCallback", {
      data: "some data",
    });
    console.log(response.success);
  } catch (error) {
    console.error("Error:", error);
  }
};

3. Visibility Management

The VisibilityProvider automatically manages interface visibility:

// The interface will automatically hide when ESC is pressed
// or when it receives the 'setVisible' event with false

🎨 Customization

TailwindCSS

The project uses TailwindCSS 4.0. You can customize colors and themes by modifying the CSS configuration file in src/index.css.

TypeScript

TypeScript configurations are optimized for React and Vite. You can modify tsconfig.json for your specific needs.

📦 Build and Deployment

  1. For FiveM development:

    npm run start:game
  2. For production:

    npm run build

Built files will be in the dist/ folder and can be copied to your FiveM resource.
