Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

nztrain-api

v1.0.0

Published

Client for NZTrain

Readme

nztrain-api

An unofficial client for the NZTrain website used by the NZOI. Includes full TypeScript support and JSDoc comments for an amazing developer experience.

[!WARNING] This project is unaffiliated with NZTrain or the NZOI! Use at your own risk!

Installation

You can install nztrain-api in your JavaScript or TypeScript project with one command:

npm install nztrain-api

Of course, you can use any package manager you would like, such as yarn, pnpm, or bun.

This project uses Bun itself, so you should use it for the best experience.

Usage

A quick look at the API style of this library:

import { NZTrain } from "nztrain-api";

const client = await NZTrain.init({
  username: "Admin", // Change this to your real username!
  password: process.env.NZTRAIN_PASSWORD // Use an environment variable for better security!
});

const problem = client.getProblem(19); // 'Hailstone Sequences'
const problemData = await problem.getData();

console.log(problemData.title); // The title of the problem
console.log(problemData.info); // General information about the problem (input, output, memory limit, time limit)
console.log(problemData.problem); // The contents of the problem
console.log(problemData.samples); // The samples of the problem
console.log(await problem.getLanguages()); // The languages that are available

// SUBMISSION

const code = `
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
int main() {
  ...
`;

const submission = await problem.submit(code, "11"); // Submit code to the NZTrain judge (id 11 is C++17)
// ... later
console.log(await submission.getData()); // Data about the submission

More information is available in the wiki or the JSDoc comments that should be available in your code editor. Alternatively, you can view the source code or the type definitions included in the NPM package.

Notes

nztrain-api is ESM-only, and cannot be imported with require.
