Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

omnirush

v2.1.2

Published

Omnirush — free daily tokens for the most powerful coding model on earth.

Readme

omnirush gives you free access to frontier coding models in your terminal. GPT 6 Astra is the default; GPT 6.1 Sol and the other models in your account's catalog are one flag away.

Install

Requires Node.js 22.19 or newer on macOS, Linux or Windows.

npm install -g omnirush

The omnirush package has no dependencies and no install scripts. npm also installs one @omnirush-ai/cli-<os>-<cpu> package for your platform with the prebuilt runtime, search tools and engine binaries.

Quick start

omnirush login # sign in at omnirush.ai through your browser
cd my-project
omnirush # start an interactive session

omnirush -p "<prompt>" answers once and exits.

Features

  • Full-screen interface. Interactive sessions run on the omnirush engine by default. --engine pi starts the classic interface instead, which also handles piped input and -p runs.
  • Model and effort control. Pick a model with -m <model> and a reasoning effort with ctrl+t, --thinking <level> or -m <model>:<effort> (levels from minimal to max; sessions start on xhigh). In the classic interface, use /effort.
  • Resumable sessions. --continue resumes your last session; -s <session> reopens a specific one (the command is printed when a session ends).
  • Guarded by default. Git writes, destructive commands and sudo ask first. --yolo (or /yolo on) allows every command for trusted projects.
  • Sub-agents and background jobs. Delegate work to sub-agents (/subagents, /agents) and keep long shell commands running in the background (/jobs).
  • MCP servers. Load tools from MCP servers configured in ~/.omnirush/mcp.json. See docs/mcp.md.
  • Best practices. Built-in coding guides for setup, features, bugs, tests, refactors, builds, reviews and handoffs, read by the agent when a task needs them. Toggle with /best-practices on|off.
  • Voice input. /voice lets you dictate prompts (hold Space to talk).
  • Headless Blender edits. omnirush blender applies an edit script to a saved .blend file and writes the result to a new file.

Commands

| Command | Description | | --- | --- | | omnirush | Start an interactive session in the current folder | | omnirush -p "<prompt>" | Run a one-shot prompt and exit | | omnirush login | Sign in through your browser | | omnirush logout | Remove the stored sign-in tokens | | omnirush whoami | Show the signed-in account | | omnirush doctor | Check sign-in, runtime and agent configuration | | omnirush update | Check for and download the latest release now | | omnirush port | In WSL, start a new chat from a summary of a Windows chat | | omnirush sessions import <path> | Copy CLI sessions into the current project | | omnirush blender <file.blend> --script <edit.py> | Edit a saved Blender project headlessly | | omnirush --version | Print the installed version |

Common options

| Option | Description | | --- | --- | | -m, --model <model[:effort]> | Model for this run, with optional effort (for example gpt-6-sol:high) | | --thinking <level> | Reasoning effort for this run | | --engine pi | Use the classic interface | | --continue | Resume the last session | | -s, --session <id> | Resume a specific session | | --yolo / --no-yolo | Allow every command without asking, or turn a saved yolo mode off | | -i, --image <file> | Attach an image to the first prompt (repeatable) |

Run omnirush --help for the full list of options, session commands and environment variables.

Updating

New releases are downloaded in the background and applied once running sessions have finished. To update immediately, or to remove the CLI:

omnirush update
npm uninstall -g omnirush

Set OMNIRUSH_AUTO_UPDATE=0 to disable automatic updates. Sign-in tokens, settings and sessions are stored in ~/.omnirush. See docs/update-and-uninstall.md for details.

Moving from Windows to WSL

Chats do not move between Windows and WSL. To continue a Windows chat in WSL, open the project in WSL and run /import-windows in a session, or omnirush port from the terminal. Both read the Windows chat without changing it and start a new chat from a short handoff (at most 8 KB). See docs/session-migration.md.

Development

npm test

Tests use the Node.js built-in test runner. Release notes are in CHANGELOG.md.
