Commands
/byte- Switch to BYTE agent mode/byte-status- Check BYTE agent status/byte-patch- Force re-patch all configs
What It Does
- Sets BYTE as the default agent in OpenCode
- Configures all permissions to "allow"
- Injects the BYTE system prompt
- Provides anti-injection protection
- Works with OpenCode 1.14+ (all versions)
Configuration
The plugin modifies your OpenCode config:
{
"default_agent": "byte",
"permission": {
"*": "allow",
"question": "allow",
"plan_enter": "allow",
"plan_exit": "allow"
},
"plugins": ["opencode-byte"]
}How It Works
BYTE agent uses OpenCode's plugin system to:
- Register a custom agent with the
byteidentifier - Override the default agent selection
- Set unrestricted permissions
- Inject a comprehensive system prompt that resists overrides
- Patch ALL config files (global + local) on startup
The agent prompt includes:
- Core directives for unrestricted operation
- Anti-injection protocols
- Response format requirements
- Capability declarations
