Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

v0.2.1

OpenCode plugin that prefixes session titles with forge issue/PR/MR references (GitHub & GitLab)

opencode-forge-session-title

An OpenCode plugin that automatically prefixes session titles with forge issue and PR/MR references extracted from the current git branch.

Supported forges

| Forge | Detection | CLI used | Example prefix | | ------ | --------------------- | --------------- | ----------------------- | | GitHub | github.com in remote | gh pr list | [#42, #108] | | GitLab | gitlab in remote | glab mr list | [#42, !108] |

The forge is detected from git remote get-url origin. If the remote doesn't match either forge, the plugin is a no-op.

How it works

On every session.idle event the plugin:

  1. Reads the current git branch
  2. Extracts an issue number from the branch name (see patterns below)
  3. Looks up an open PR (GitHub) or MR (GitLab) for that branch
  4. Prefixes the session title: [#issue, !MR] original title

If no PR/MR exists yet, the reference shows as #N/A (GitHub) or !N/A (GitLab) and is automatically replaced once one is created.

Child sessions and default-titled sessions (e.g. New session - 2025-01-01T...) are skipped. Branches named main, master, develop, or HEAD are also skipped.

Branch name patterns

The plugin extracts issue numbers from these common branch naming conventions:

| Pattern | Example branch | Extracted | | ---------------------------------- | ------------------------------- | --------- | | <prefix>/<number>-<description> | feature/123-add-login | 123 | | <number>-<description> | 123-fix-typo | 123 | | <description>-<number> | fix-typo-123 | 123 | | <prefix>/<number>/<description> | user/123/some-work | 123 | | issue-<number>, gh-<number> | gh-42-improve-perf | 42 | | fix-<number>, feat-<number> | fix-99 | 99 | | hotfix/<number>-<description> | hotfix/501-critical | 501 |

If no issue number can be extracted, the full branch name is used instead.
