Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Orvium Deposit Import Tool

This Node.js tool is designed to automate the process of importing deposits (such as manuscripts) into the Orvium platform. It handles loading metadata, creating deposits, uploading manuscripts, and confirming the upload through API requests.

Import deposit metadata from JSON files.
Upload manuscript files to a pre-signed URL.
Confirm manuscript uploads.
Supports authentication via API key.

Requirements

Node.js (v14+)
TypeScript
Environment variables for API configuration.

Installation

Clone the repository:

git clone git clone [https://github.com/orvium/orvium-tools.git](https://github.com/orvium/orvium-tools.git)
cd orvium-tools

Install the dependencies:

npm install

Define enviroment variables required:

API_KEY=your-api-key
API_KEY_USER=your-api-key-user
API_URL=https://api.orvium.io

Usage

npx ts-node import.ts <directory-path> <community>

where:

directory-path: The path to the directory containing the meta.json and manuscript file (e.g., Manuscript.docx).
community: The name or identifier of the community in which the deposit is categorized.

Example

npx ts-node import.ts ./preprint111 'Test Community'
