Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

PageBuilderJS

npm version

PageBuilderJS is a fully self-contained Web Component page builder designed to be easily integrated into any web platform. It allows developers to provide an intuitive block-based page editing experience to their users with minimal setup.

🔥 LIVE DEMO → https://standahorvath.github.io/PageBuilderJS/demo-page.html

📖 DOCUMENTATION → https://standahorvath.github.io/PageBuilderJS/

Demo

✨ Key Features

  • Distributed as npm package for easy integration
  • Works anywhere via WebComponent (<block-builder> tag)
  • Drag & Drop visual block builder
  • Create and manage reusable modules (blocks)
  • Dynamic template rendering with integrated TemplifyJS engine
  • Fully customizable toolbar actions
  • Fast and lightweight (internally built with Vue 3 + Vite + Tailwind CSS)

🚀 How to Use

1️⃣ Install via npm

npm i pagebuilderjs

2️⃣ Add to your project

The library exposes the block-builder web component.

Example usage in any web application:

  const builder = document.createElement('block-builder')
  const content = [/* ... */]
  const modules = [/* ... */]
  const toolbar = {/* ... */}

  // Assign data
  builder.modules = modules
  builder.toolbar = toolbar
  builder.content = content

  // Listen to any changes in content structure
  builder.addEventListener('onUpdate', (event) => {
    console.log('Blocks content changed:', event.detail)
  })

  document.body.appendChild(builder)

You can use it in any modern frontend or backend system (Laravel, Symfony, Node.js, plain HTML etc.).

If you want to get started quickly, go to the Live Demo and check the Getting started page.

➡️ TemplifyJS (Rendering Engine)

Modules use the TemplifyJS mini-template engine for live previews:

<button style="background-color: {{backgroundColor}}; color: {{textColor}}">{{label}}</button>

Features:

  • {{ variable }} → inject dynamic values
  • {{ variable | pipe }} → apply custom filters
  • {% foreach:array %} ... {% endforeach %} → loops
  • {% if:condition %} ... {% endif %} → conditionals

See full TemplifyJS docs →

Toolbar Type

The toolbar is a simple object composed of tabs and tools.

export type Toolbar = {
  tabs: {
    id: string;
    title: string;
    icon?: string;
    tools: string[];
  }[];
};

📝 Developer Notes

Although built with Vue 3 + Vite + Pinia + Tailwind CSS, PageBuilderJS is shipped as a fully standalone Web Component → you don't need Vue or any framework to use it!

This makes it perfect for integrating into any system without conflicts.
