Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Push adapter for parse-server with support for ios token based push notifications

Token based authentication

Parameters need to suppurt this are:

  • tokenKey The Path of the apns key which is in p8 format
  • tokenKeyId The Key ID of the p8 file (available at https://developer.apple.com/account/ios/certificate/key)
  • tokenTeamId The Team ID of your Apple Developer Account (available at https://developer.apple.com/account/#/membership/)

than initialize the adapter with

var adapter = require('parse-server-push-adapter-token-based').ParsePushAdapter;

var configuration = {ios: {
      production: false,
      tokenKey: 'apns.p8',
      tokenKeyId: '****',
      tokenTeamId: '*****'
}};

var pushAdapter = new adapter(configuration);

var api = new ParseServer({
  databaseURI: databaseUri || 'mongodb://localhost:27017/dev',
  cloud: process.env.CLOUD_CODE_MAIN || __dirname + '/cloud/main.js',
  appId: process.env.APP_ID || 'apikey',
  masterKey: process.env.MASTER_KEY || 'master', //Add your master key here. Keep it secret!
  serverURL: process.env.SERVER_URL || 'http://localhost:1337/parse', // Don't forget to change to https if needed
  liveQuery: {
    classNames: ["Posts", "Comments"] // List of classes to support for query subscriptions
  },
  push: {
    adapter:pushAdapter
  }
});

If you want to use certificate, you can create configuration as :

var configuration = {ios: {
       pfx: "***.p12",
       passphrase: '',
      bundleId: "com.***.***",
    }
}

Silent Notifications

If you have migrated from parse.com and you are seeing situations where silent (newsstand-like presentless) notifications are failing to deliver please ensure that your payload is setting the content-available attribute to Int(1) and not "1" This value will be explicitly checked.

see more logs

You can enable verbose logging with environment variables:

VERBOSE=1

or

VERBOSE_PARSE_SERVER_PUSH_ADAPTER=1

This will produce a more verbose output for all the push sending attempts
