Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

v0.1.1

Selectable conversation examples for Pi: choose a local profile and apply it to a new eligible session.

pi-assistant-prefill

A Pi extension for selecting editable conversation examples, including assistant-role messages where supported.

Status: Pi extension published as pi-assistant-prefill. The repository contains the TypeScript source of the extension, the profile library it reads and the command documentation in docs/selector.md. The command lists profiles, records a choice or an explicit disable, shows the recorded state, previews a profile and reloads the catalog. When a new session starts on a physical Anthropic model with an empty branch, the chosen example is sent in front of the conversation under the conditions in docs/projection.md: the selection resolves to a profile, PI_PREFILL_OFF is not 1, and the profile still matches its recorded revision; only Create and Edit in the TUI menu write profile files, and nothing changes the library configuration. The application was tested with a simulated host only: no real provider has been used.

Install it with pi install npm:[email protected]; Pi 1.1.0 loads the extension from the package and the command becomes available. The automated tests call the command with a simulated context and do not start Pi. The structural types match the Pi 1.1.0 declarations as checked with the TypeScript compiler from a temporary directory; that check is not part of npm run check (see docs/projection.md). One manual run against an installed Pi 1.1.0 on Windows with Node.js 24.9.0 is described in docs/selector.md; no other Pi version, platform or model provider was checked. docs/compatibility.md records each case that was checked, the evidence behind it and what remains unproven. The file format and resolution rules are in docs/profile-format.md. Released versions and their notes are listed in CHANGELOG.md and in the releases page.

Scope

The intended workflow is to choose a local profile, start an eligible new session and see which example was applied. It will remain separate from Pi's system prompt and authentication. Assistant-role examples are supplied by the operator; they are not proof of a model's prior output and do not guarantee a particular response.

Personal profiles and conversation logs do not belong in this repository. No bundled runtime profiles are distributed; synthetic examples appear only in documentation and tests.
