Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

pi-ccs-current-model

v0.1.0

Published

Quickly switch models within the active pi-ccs provider.

Readme

pi-ccs-current-model

A small companion extension for pi-ccs. It adds a fast model switcher restricted to the currently selected cc-switch provider.

Why

pi-ccs intentionally uses a three-level picker:

provider type → provider name → model

That is useful when changing providers, but repetitive when only changing models on the current provider. This extension adds the missing shortcut without modifying pi-ccs or the cc-switch SQLite database.

Requirements

Install and configure pi-ccs first:

pi install npm:pi-ccs

Then install this extension from a local checkout:

pi install /absolute/path/to/pi-ccs-current-model

Restart Pi or run /reload afterwards.

Commands

Open the current provider's model picker

/ccs-model

Alias:

/ps-model

The picker:

  • reads the current provider from pi-ccs selection state;
  • fetches the provider's remote /models list when available;
  • merges remote IDs with the provider's configured models;
  • marks the active model with ★;
  • falls back to the configured list when the remote request fails;
  • allows a manual model ID.

Switch directly

/ccs-model gpt-5.6-terra

This keeps the current provider and only replaces its model ID.

Safety and compatibility

  • Uses pi-ccs's existing provider parser, header/fingerprint logic, model metadata overrides, Pi selection state, and cc-switch read-only database access.
  • Does not write to ~/.cc-switch/cc-switch.db.
  • Does not store or print API keys.
  • It requires pi-ccs 0.1.3 or compatible internals. If a future pi-ccs release changes these non-public module paths, update this extension accordingly.
  • Do not also add a local patch that registers /ccs-model inside pi-ccs, or Pi will report a duplicate command.

Development

npm install
npm run typecheck
npm run pack:check

Try it without permanent installation:

pi -e /absolute/path/to/pi-ccs-current-model
