Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Alibaba DashScope (ModelStudio / 百炼) provider for oh my pi — Qwen3, GLM-5, Kimi K2.5, MiniMax via OpenAI-compatible API, with dynamic full-catalog model discovery

Readme

pi-qwen_dashscope

Alibaba DashScope (ModelStudio / 百炼) provider for pi.dev — a drop-in replacement for pi-dashscope that fixes the endpoint and makes the model list dynamic.

Why this fork exists

The upstream pi-dashscope has two problems this package fixes:

  1. Wrong endpoint. It defaults to coding-intl.dashscope.aliyuncs.com/v1, which returns 401 for standard API keys (it can list models but cannot chat). This package uses the correct OpenAI-compatible endpoint https://dashscope.aliyuncs.com/compatible-mode/v1.
  2. Static model list. Upstream hard-codes ~8 models. This package fetches the full catalog from DashScope's /v1/models, so you get every available dashscope/... model (200+) instead of a fixed short list.

What you get

  • On load: 8 curated models with hand-tuned metadata (context window, thinking format) as a fallback.
  • On /login (after the key is saved) and /refresh-models: the full live catalog is discovered and registered on top of the curated set (curated entries always win on id collision).
  • Credentials use pi's standard auth system: run /login, pick dashscope, paste your key. /logout removes it. No extra config files.

Dynamically discovered models use best-effort heuristics for metadata (context window / thinking format inferred from the model id). They chat fine; if a specific model needs precise metadata, add it to the curated list in index.ts.

Install

pi install npm:pi-qwen_dashscope

If you currently use pi-dashscope, remove it from your settings.json packages array first to avoid double-registration of the dashscope provider.

Login & Logout(登录 / 退出)

This package uses pi's built-in /login and /logout — no custom commands. DashScope credentials are managed by pi's standard credential store, exactly like every other provider.

| Command | 作用 | |---|---| | /login → choose dashscope | 交互式输入并保存你的 DashScope API key。 | | /logout → choose dashscope | 删除已保存的 API key。 |

/login # 选 dashscope,粘贴 key
/logout # 选 dashscope,清除 key
  • After /login, pi refreshes the model list and registers the full live catalog (200+ models) on top of the 8 curated ones.
  • The DASHSCOPE_API_KEY environment variable is also supported and takes precedence at request time over a key saved via /login:
export DASHSCOPE_API_KEY=sk-...

Get your key from the Model Studio console.

Use

In pi, press /model or Ctrl+L and pick a dashscope/... model. Use Ctrl+T to toggle thinking for models that support it.

Curated models:

| ID | Name | Context | Output | Thinking | |---|---|---|---|---| | qwen3.5-plus | Qwen 3.5 Plus | 960K | 64K | ✅ | | qwen3-max-2026-01-23 | Qwen3 Max (2026-01-23) | 252K | 32K | ✅ | | qwen3-coder-plus | Qwen3 Coder Plus | 975K | 64K | ❌ | | qwen3-coder-next | Qwen3 Coder Next | 200K | 64K | ❌ | | glm-4.7 | GLM-4.7 | 166K | 16K | ✅ | | glm-5 | GLM-5 | 200K | 16K | ✅ | | minimax-m2.5 | MiniMax M2.5 | 192K | 64K | ✅ | | kimi-k2.5 | Kimi K2.5 | 252K | 32K | ✅ |

…plus every other model DashScope returns from /v1/models.
