Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

pi-session-track

Pi Coding Agent extension that registers the session_track tool — commit-time session backup for Pi Coding Agent workspaces.

What it does

A call to session_track copies Pi's session history for the current workspace:

  • Derives the session directory name from the working directory (/Users/user/repos/ctx2loc → --Users-user-repos-ctx2loc--)
  • Finds all .jsonl files in ~/.pi/agent/sessions/<encoded-cwd>/
  • Copies them into ./.pi/agent/sessions/<encoded-cwd>/ (destination is always under ./.pi/)

The copy always runs — tracked or not. By default .pi/ is gitignored, so the backup stays local and untracked; tracking is operator opt-in only (remove the path from .gitignore and instruct the commit).

Install

Via npm (published):

pi install npm:pi-session-track

Via git:

pi install git:github.com/F1LT3R/pi-session-track

Manual (managing ~/.pi/agent/extensions/ yourself):

git clone https://github.com/F1LT3R/pi-session-track.git
ln -s "$PWD/pi-session-track/index.ts" ~/.pi/agent/extensions/session-track.ts

Then /reload in Pi (or start a new session). Verify with pi list.

Remove: pi remove npm:pi-session-track (or delete the symlink).
