pi-thinking-status

A pi extension that names the silent phases of a turn in the working loader, so a stall is attributable instead of looking like a hang.

A model that queues, prefills a large prompt, or reasons without emitting a visible thinking trace all look the same in pi: a static Working..., indistinguishable from a hung request.

Behavior

Pi's loader says Working... for every silent phase of a turn. This extension names them:

The label clears — restoring pi's Working... — as soon as output becomes visible: a thinking delta with printable content, the end of the thinking block, text, a tool call, or the end of the turn.

The label replaces pi's working message, so it conflicts with other extensions that call ctx.ui.setWorkingMessage().

Requires pi 0.67.6 or later.
