Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Pieceup.js

Pieceup is a small library designed for Node, with functional programming in mind, that aids in the process of setting up a static site generator. In a more specific sense, it provides a structure and a guideline for modifying source code in a procedural manner. (Since that's what static site generators mostly do anyways)

Installation

npm install pieceup-js

Usage

Pieceup implements a scheme comprised of two structures: sourceObject, an object that contains the source code, data and other relevant information, and a sourceTree, an array that contains all the sourceObjects pertinent to a process. Then, these objects are modified using a "pipeline", an adaptation of a pipe function tailored for this particular use.

Source Tree

A Source Tree can be created using createSourceTree(), which will read the contents of a folder and generate the array.

Source Object

Alternatively, a single file (which would result in a Source Object) can be read by using setFileSourceObj().

Pipeline

Pipelines can be created by using setPipeline(). This provides a way of applying several functions, one after another, to each object in a Source Tree. A more detailed explanation is provided in the documentation.
