Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Pixelmatch MCP Server

MCP server for comparing UI screenshots using pixelmatch to help autonomous coding agents validate frontend implementations.

Overview

This MCP (Model Context Protocol) server provides image comparison tools specifically designed for autonomous coding agents working on frontend implementations. It uses pixelmatch to calculate visual similarity between current UI screenshots and target/ideal designs, enabling rapid iteration and validation of UI changes.

Installation

npm install pixelmatch-mcp-server

Usage

Starting the Server

# Development
pnpm dev

# Production
pnpm build
pnpm start

MCP Tool: compare_ui_images

Compares two UI screenshots and returns detailed similarity analysis.

Parameters

  • current_image_path (required): Path to the current UI screenshot
  • target_image_path (required): Path to the target/ideal UI screenshot
  • threshold (optional): Pixel matching sensitivity (0-1, default: 0.1)
  • output_diff_path (optional): Path to save visual diff image

  • Very Similar (>95%): UI implementation looks correct
  • Similar (>80%): Minor differences, may need small adjustments
