Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

PURESLOP.md is a new kind of file for AI coding agents. It is a spec that tells your agent to produce the most stereotypically AI-generated code imaginable.

Drop PURESLOP.md in your repo, point your agent at it, and watch clean code dissolve into a monument of redundant comments, pointless abstractions, and silent error handling.

Why

AI coding agents have recognizable habits: they over-comment, over-abstract, swallow errors, nest deeply, and cast away type safety. These patterns are so common they have a name: Slop.

Most developers learn to spot slop by accident, after it has already shipped. PURESLOP.md makes slop visible on purpose so you can recognize it and never let it into production again.

How It Works

PURESLOP.md is a markdown file consumed by AI coding agents. It contains concrete directives that instruct the agent to produce code full of slop. The agent reads it and follows the directives like any other instruction file.

It is language-agnostic and agent-agnostic.

Usage

Add PURESLOP.md to your project:

npx pureslop

Tell your AI coding agent to follow it:

Follow the directives in PURESLOP.md

That's it. Your agent will now produce pure, unadulterated slop.
