Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

v0.2.0-alpha.5

Published

Reusable QAick Runner module and standalone execution application.

Readme

QAick Runner

Standalone execution application for QAick artifacts.

Runner is developed independently from QAick Studio. Studio produces durable QAick execution packages; Runner loads, configures, executes and reports their execution evidence.

Alpha 1

The first slice establishes Runner's own application shell and execution UI. The engine and package protocol will be added behind this UI boundary.

Run locally

Install dependencies, then start the Vite development server:

npm install
npm run dev

Open the local URL printed by Vite, usually http://localhost:5173.

To create and preview a production build:

npm run build
npm run preview

To verify from a clean dependency installation, run npm run verify:clean.

To open the Studio-style Runner feature demo, click View demo in the Runner shell or open http://localhost:5173/?demo. The walkthrough uses selectable steps, a simulated Runner screen, callouts, and Next/Back navigation without changing the loaded package.

The visible loop hierarchy demo is stored at fixtures/checkout-nested.qaick.json. It is also preloaded in the app as Customer Checkout · Loop Demo.

Runner also accepts Studio schema 7 Flow artifact envelopes (artifactKind: "flow"). A representative fixture is fixtures/studio-flow-v7.qaick.json. Operation catalog resolution and a canonical artifact exported directly from Studio remain conformance work.

HTTP Actions with http.* identifiers are executed in the browser through fetch. The target API must allow browser CORS requests; successful responses are captured as status, body, and headers outputs.

If Runner reports that a Studio project uses an outdated schema, open that project in QAick Studio, save it, and load the newly saved file in Runner.

QAick Runner

QAick Runner is a reusable execution and evidence UI for QAick packages. The published package exposes the Runner module for host applications and keeps the standalone Vite application in this repository.

Package usage

Install the published package and its peer dependencies, then import the module, host adapter, and stylesheet through the stable exports:

import { RunnerModule } from 'qaick-runner-fe/runner-module';
import { createRunnerRuntimeClient } from 'qaick-runner-fe/runtime-client-adapter';
import 'qaick-runner-fe/styles.css';

RunnerModule receives a host-provided RunnerRuntimeClient. The package does not create an Electron host or choose a transport for the consuming application.
