Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Quick TypeScript Setup - A lightweight CLI tool to instantly scaffold a Node.js + TypeScript project with zero configuration.

Installation

npm install -g qnts

or using npx (no installation required):

npx qnts my-project

Usage

Create a new TypeScript project:

qnts <project-name>

Example:

qnts my-awesome-app
cd my-awesome-app
npm run dev

What's Included

Each generated project includes:

  • TypeScript 5.x configured and ready to use
  • ts-node for direct TypeScript execution
  • Sensible tsconfig.json with strict mode enabled
  • npm scripts for development, building, and running
  • Sample code to get you started immediately

Generated Project Structure

Available Scripts

  • npm run dev - Run TypeScript files directly (development mode)

Requirements

  • Node.js 14.x or higher
  • npm 6.x or higher
