Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

quick-ejs

quick-ejs is an interactive CLI tool for quickly setting up modern Express.js projects with your choice of EJS templates, static HTML, or a backend-only no-view-engine mode. It provides a comprehensive boilerplate with optional MySQL (XAMPP) or MongoDB integration, JWT authentication, and MVC architecture.

Quick Start

Use npx to create a new project without installing the package globally:

npx quick-ejs my-project

Or install globally:

npm install -g quick-ejs
quick-ejs my-project

CLI Options

The interactive CLI will ask you to choose:

  1. Project name - Your application name
  2. Template type - None (backend only), EJS (dynamic), or HTML (static)
  3. Routes - Separate route files for organization
  4. Controllers - MVC pattern with controller layer
  5. Database - None, MySQL (XAMPP), or MongoDB
  6. Authentication - JWT-based auth system
  7. Package Manager - npm, yarn, or pnpm
