QuickFX

Raycast / Spotlight style command palette for Adobe Premiere Pro.

Search effects, presets, and editing commands from the keyboard. Install with a professional CLI — no .exe or .bat installers.

Install (for users / friends)

After the package is published to npm:

npm install -g quickfx
quickfx install

1. Restart Adobe Premiere Pro
2. Press Shift+Space — or Window → Extensions → QuickFX

quickfx install enables PlayerDebugMode, copies the CEP extension, and builds the Windows popup helper that binds Shift+Space. The helper is compiled on your machine with the C# compiler included in Windows, so there is nothing extra to download.

No source code needed. Publish steps: docs/publish.md.

Stack

• CEP panel — React, TypeScript, Vite, Fuse.js + custom scorer
• Host — ExtendScript (host/extendscript/host.jsx) + QE DOM for effect apply
• CLI — quickfx (install · uninstall · doctor · rebuild · dev · update · package · clear-cache)
• Windows helper — C# tray app (extras/helper/QuickFXHelper.cs) for borderless popup + global hotkey, built at install time with the .NET Framework compiler that ships in Windows

Shortcut

Shift + Space opens and closes the palette. It is fixed — not configurable — and the helper only claims the key while Premiere or the panel is in the foreground, so Shift+Space stays a normal keystroke everywhere else.

The helper lives at %APPDATA%\QuickFX\QuickFXHelper.exe, runs from the Startup folder, and can be quit from its tray icon.

License

UNLICENSED / commercial — licensing hooks are placeholders until activation is implemented. Core features stay unlocked in development.
