Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Connect(
  mapState: { [key: string]: Observable<any> },
  component?: any
)

useStreamByStateNames(...states: string[])

useStreamBySelect(states: { [key: string]: Observable<any> })

Connect() for class component( you can use as a decoretor/normal function ). Here counter key should be set as a state prop and component should be updated automatecally whenever corrresponding store updated.

import { select } from "ajwah-store";

@Connect({
  counter: select("counter"),
})
class CounterComponent extends PureComponent {}

class CounterComponent extends PureComponent {
  constructor() {
    //either like a normal function - do not forget to pass the second param this
    Connect({ counter: select((state) => state.counter) }, this);
  }
}

CounterComponent - Example using connect as a decoretor

import React, { PureComponent } from "react";
import { dispatch, select } from "ajwah-store";
import { Connect } from "react-ajwah";
import { Inc, AsyncInc, Dec } from "./actions";

@Connect({
  counter: select((state) => state.counter),
})
class CounterComponent extends PureComponent {
  render() {
    const { counter } = this.state;

    return (
      <div>
        <button onClick={() => dispatch(Inc)}>+</button>
        <button onClick={() => dispatch(Dec)}>-</button>
        <button onClick={() => dispatch(AsyncInc)}>async(+)</button>
        <span>{counter.msg || counter.count}</span>
      </div>
    );
  }
}

export default CounterComponent;

`CounterComponent - Example using connect as a normal function

import React, { PureComponent } from "react";
import { dispatch, select } from "test-store";
import { Connect } from "test-react-ajwah";
import { Inc, AsyncInc, Dec } from "./actions";

class CounterComponent extends PureComponent {
  constructor() {
    super();
    Connect({ counter: select((state) => state.counter) }, this);
  }
  render() {
    const { counter } = this.state;

    return (
      <div>
        <button onClick={() => dispatch(Inc)}>+</button>
        <button onClick={() => dispatch(Dec)}>-</button>
        <button onClick={() => dispatch(AsyncInc)}>async(+)</button>
        <span>{counter?.msg || counter?.count}</span>
      </div>
    );
  }
}

export default CounterComponent;

Connect decorator/function takes a single object literal type param (key value pairs). Key should be any name and value should be an Observable type that is part of your application's state. You can define as many pairs as you want. All keys and its corresponding states should be available in your component state. Your component should be re-render if any key corresponding state is updated from anywhere in the application.

useStreamByStateNames() / useStreamBySelect() for functional component

import React from "react";
import { dispatch } from "ajwah-store";
import { useStreamByStateNames } from "react-ajwah";
import { Inc, Dec, AsyncInc } from "./actions";

function fxCounterComponent() {
  const { counter } = useStreamByStateNames("counter");

  return (
    <div>
      <button onClick={() => dispatch(Inc)}>+</button>
      <button onClick={() => dispatch(Dec)}>-</button>
      <button onClick={() => dispatch(AsyncInc)}>async(+)</button>
      {counter?.msg || counter?.count}
    </div>
  );
}

export default fxCounterComponent;
