Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

react-drag-n-zoom

v3.0.1

Published

A drag n zoom component

Readme

react-drag-n-zoom

Drag and zoom your SVGs

What does it?

react-drag-n-zoom allows you to drag, zoom, expand, center your SVGs in the web.

Look at the amazing demo:

React-Drag-N-Zoom DEMO

Install

npm install react-drag-n-zoom

or over yarn:

yarn add react-drag-n-zoom

How to Use

First import it:

import Viewer from 'react-drag-n-zoom'

Add the React Component for example in the render method (taken from ./example)

render () {
  return (
    <Viewer
      ref={ref => (this.viewer = ref)} // (see below for methods)
      zoomFullOnInit={true}
      width="100"
      height="100"
      viewBox="0 0 100 100"
    >
     <circle
        cx="50"
        cy="50"
        r="40"
        stroke="black"
        stroke-width="3"
        fill="red"
      />
    </Viewer>
  )
}

Viewer accepts as children the content of SVGs. The SVG surrounding the circle Element above, will be added automatically by react-drag-n-zoom

Warning: Make sure width, height and viewBox are supplied to Viewer!

Methods

  • this.viewer.resetZoom() - resets zoom and centers SVG at scale 1
  • this.viewer.zoomIn(value = 1.2) - zooms in SVG
  • this.viewer.zoomOut(value = 0.8) - zoom out of SVG
  • this.viewer.zoomFull() - expands SVG to fill screen
  • this.viewer.zoomTo(area) - zoom to specific area area equals e.g. { top: 655, left: 570, width: 80, height: 50}

Features

  • Extensive Functions
  • Supports every SVG
  • Uses Smooth Transitions
  • Cross-Browser Compatibility - e.g. Firefox & Chrome differ in how they implement SVGs. That's why, react-drag-n-zoom will differ them too and apply the right methods for the specific browser.
