Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Regular_Bot

A simple SelfBot made by Discord user Mundane#9987

Installation Instructions:

  1. Ensure you have the latest version of node.js installed.
  2. Open up a console window and run npm install regular-bot && npm install. This will install the bot and it's required node modules.
  3. Edit config.json using your editor of choice; notepad will be just fine. The most important thing to change is your User Token. DO NOT under ANY circumstance let other users know your user token. It will give them unrestricted access to your account. If you don't have it already, follow these steps:
  4. Open Discord.
  5. Go to User Settings > Appearance, and turn on Developer Mode. Once this is done, close the settings window.
  6. Press CTRL, SHIFT and I together to open the inspection window.
  7. Along the top of this window it says "Elements, Console, Sources" etc. Click on the >> icon, then "Application" on the drop-down list.
  8. Along the left-hand side of this window are the headers "Application, Storage, Cache and Frames". Click the "Local Storage" drop-down menu, and select the new item (it should be the only thing that appears).
  9. In the right-hand window there is a list of items. Find the token item (near or at the bottom) and double-click the string of numbers and letters to the right, which then allows you to copy the string. Try not to change it, it's very important.
  10. This is your User Token. Never, ever reveal it to anyone at all, even people claiming to be Discord developers. Put it in the token section of config.json, and that's the bot all set up and ready to go!

Running Regular Bot

Just open up a command prompt and run node index.js. That'll get the bot up and kicking, with a useful little status message when it does.

Custom Commands

RegularBot is built on Mundane's Braniac framework, which makes it simple to get your own commands going. Just copy one of the files already in cmd/util/, renaming it to whatever you want. Make sure you rename the class and the export, or it won't register. For more info on setting up a command, check out the Braniac repo..
