RelayDance Skill

Generate AI videos with Seedance 2.5 and 2.0 from Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or any agent that supports skills. Text-to-video, image-to-video, multi-reference, optional NSFW models, and 480p-to-4K upscaling, all driven by natural language.

RelayDance is an OpenAI-compatible API for ByteDance's Seedance video models. Per-second billing, no queue, no KYC.

Install

One command (any OS, needs Node 16+):

npx relaydance-skill

This copies the skill into ~/.claude/skills/relaydance (use --project for the current project only, or --dir PATH for Cursor/Codex skill directories).

Or without Node: download relaydance.com/skill/relaydance-skill.zip and unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/.

Then set your API key (get one at relaydance.com, console: API Tokens):

export RELAYDANCE_API_KEY=sk-...

Restart your agent. That's it, no dependencies beyond Python 3.

Use

Just ask in natural language:

"Generate a 5 second video of a corgi surfing a wave at sunset, 16:9"

"Animate this image: ./photo.png, she turns and smiles at the camera"

"Take that last video and upscale it to 1080p"

The agent picks the model, submits the task, polls, and downloads the MP4.

Models

• SFW: doubao-seedance-2-5-{480p,720p} (newest, up to 30s and 30 reference images), doubao-seedance-2-0-{480p,720p,1080p,4k}, mini and fast variants, Seedance 1.5 Pro (with/without audio)
• NSFW (opt-in, adult content): seedance-nsfw{,-720p,-1080p,-4k}, seedance-fast-nsfw
• Upscale: seedance-upscale-{720p,1080p,2k,4k}

NSFW models skip standard pre-moderation. Content involving minors, non-consensual imagery, or real identifiable people is prohibited on all models and results in account suspension.

Pricing anchors

Per-second billing settled on actual output (auto-refund of pre-charge difference). About $0.44 per 2.0 480p 5s clip, $0.95 at 2.0 720p, $1.44 at 2.5 720p, $4.90 at 4K. Details: relaydance.com/pricing

All scripts use only the Python standard library and talk to https://relaydance.com/v1 (override with RELAYDANCE_BASE_URL).
