Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

v0.2.1

Published

The Remembee app for your computer: turns your Bee conversations, or transcripts and chats you already have, into quiz questions, through Remembee or with your own AI on your computer.

remembee

The Remembee command-line tool for your computer. Remembee is a quiz about your own life: drop a transcript or chat export on the website and it writes questions from it. This tool is for the two things the website cannot do: read your Bee wearable's conversations on your computer, and write the questions on your computer with your own AI, so your transcripts stay there.

npm install -g @beeai/cli remembee # Node.js 22 or newer
bee login # Bee app: Settings, tap the version 5 times for Developer Mode
remembee login # signs you in to Remembee in your browser
remembee add # Bee since your last add (today the first time) -> questions to review

remembee whoami says who is signed in; remembee logout signs out on this computer.

Two ways to write the questions

Remembee writes them (the default). remembee add reads your conversations here and sends them to Remembee.ai, which writes the questions with its own AI and keeps only those: your questions and one quoted sentence each. Remembee.ai holds what you sent only until the questions are written, then deletes it. You need no AI account of your own. The tool prints how many questions were written and a link to review them on the website (remembee add --no-review adds them to your account right away, for a scheduled run: remembee add --from bee --since last --no-review).

Your own AI writes them. remembee config --provider claude (or openai, or bedrock for Amazon Bedrock in your AWS account) sets it up and asks for what is missing; remembee config shows what is set up. Then remembee add --from bee --use claude writes the questions on this computer. Your transcripts go only to that AI (Anthropic, OpenAI or your own AWS account), and Remembee.ai receives just the finished questions; --out <file> keeps a copy of the questions file. A questions file, yours or one downloaded from the website, is added the same way: remembee add questions.json.

Privacy policy and terms: on the website (/privacy, /terms). License: AGPL-3.0.

Other transcripts and chats

remembee add also reads files you already have, without a Bee login, whoever writes the questions:

remembee add meeting.vtt # WebVTT or SubRip from Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, YouTube, podcasts
remembee add otter-notes.txt "Checkout review.docx" # plain-text and Word transcripts (Otter, Fireflies, Teams, Meet)
remembee add episode.json # Podcasting 2.0 JSON transcripts
remembee add "WhatsApp Chat with Rosa.txt" --since 7d # WhatsApp (.txt or the iPhone .zip), one thread per day
remembee add ~/imessage-export sms-backup.xml --since 7d # iMessage via imessage-exporter, Android "SMS Backup & Restore"
remembee add slack-export.zip --since 7d # a Slack workspace export, one thread per channel and day
remembee add ~/bee-sync --since 7d # the markdown folder `bee sync` writes (conversations and facts.md)

The source is detected from the file where possible (--origin zoom|teams|google_meet|otter|youtube|podcast|… overrides it for transcripts), --title names a recording and --at 2026-10-04T15:00 sets when it started. Transcripts you name are read whatever their date; chats and folders are filtered by --since (default today), since an export holds months of history. Phone numbers and email addresses never become names. Set remembee config --self-label <your name> (and your full name, as Slack shows it) so your own lines count as yours. --dry-run shows what would be sent or written without sending or writing anything.
