Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Readme

Reponix

npm version CI Deploy Node Version License: Apache-2.0

Scaffold a production-grade repository intelligence & modernization multi-agent AI system into any codebase in 30 seconds.

npx reponix init

What It Does

npx reponix init guides you through a streamlined setup process and writes a complete multi-agent repository intelligence and modernization system into your workspace:

  1. Launch: Run npx reponix init
  2. Scope: Choose project (current repository) or global (user home directory)
  3. Platform: Select your AI coding harness (Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Cursor, OpenCode, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Continue, Windsurf)
  4. Agent Suite: Choose Modernization Suite (Reponix-Orchestrator + Intelligence agents + Modernizer) or Intelligence Suite (Analysis only)
  5. Setup: Reponix renders platform-native agent files, installs selected skills, and saves configuration into reponix.config.json

Agent System

Reponix deploys specialized agents designed for deep repository archaeology and system modernization:

User → Reponix-Orchestrator
         │
├─► [1. Repo Analyst] (Inventory: stack, layout, dependencies, configs)
         │
├─► [2. Arch Mapper] (Topology: components, data flows, Mermaid diagrams)
         │
├─► [3. Code Inspector] (Contracts: APIs, database schemas, business rules)
         │
├─► [4. Modernizer] (Blueprints: target-neutral specs, refactoring roadmap)
         │
└─► [5. Validator] (Verification: source citations, gap analysis)

Core Agents

| Agent | Role | Output Artifact | |---|---|---| | Reponix-Orchestrator | Coordinates the entire intelligence and modernization lifecycle. All sub-agents report through it. | reponix/README.md | | Repo Analyst | Discovers stack, dependencies, manifest files, directory topologies, and build tools. | reponix/inventory.md | | Arch Mapper | Maps system topology, service boundaries, data flows, and renders visual Mermaid diagrams. | reponix/architecture.md | | Code Inspector | Extracts REST/GraphQL endpoints, database schemas/migrations, domain entities, and core business rules. | reponix/contracts.md | | Modernizer | Produces target-neutral reconstruction blueprints, API specifications, and phased refactoring plans. | reponix/reconstruction-spec.md | | Validator | Audits generated documentation and migration blueprints against real source code evidence to guarantee zero hallucination. | reponix/validation-report.md |

Built-in Skills

| Skill | Role | |---|---| | graphify | Code relationship extraction, call trees, and import graph queries. | | arch-review | Architectural fitness checks, layer separation validation, and Mermaid visualization. | | modernization | Target-neutral specification formatting and migration blueprint generator. |

Supported Platforms

| Platform | Agent File Location | Root Instructions | |---|---|---| | Gemini CLI | .gemini/agents/*.md | GEMINI.md | | Claude Code | .claude/agents/*.md | CLAUDE.md | | Cursor | .cursor/rules/*.mdc | .cursorrules | | OpenCode | .opencode/agents/*.md | .opencode/instructions.md | | GitHub Copilot | .github/instructions/*.instructions.md | AGENTS.md | | GitHub Copilot CLI | .github/agents/*.agent.md | AGENTS.md | | OpenAI Codex | .codex/agents/*.md | AGENTS.md (merged) | | Continue | .continue/prompts/*.md | — | | Windsurf | .windsurf/rules/*.md | .windsurf/rules.md |

npx reponix init --platform gemini-cli --yes

# Preview files without writing to disk
npx reponix init --platform cursor --dry-run

Development

# Build the CLI package and sync templates/skills
npm run build

# Run test suite
npm test

# Typecheck codebase
npm run typecheck

CI/CD & Automated Publishing

Reponix uses GitHub Actions for continuous integration and automated npm deployments:

  • Continuous Integration (.github/workflows/ci.yml):

    • Triggers on every push and pull request across main, master, and feature/**.
    • Runs typechecking, vitest tests, and package verification against Node 24.x and Node 25.x.
  • Automated Deployment (.github/workflows/deploy.yml):

    • Triggers only when changes are merged into the main branch.
    • Automatically compares the local packages/cli/package.json version against the latest version published on npmjs.com.
    • If a version bump is detected:
      1. Verifies types, tests, and builds the bundle on Node 24.
      2. Publishes the new package version to the public npm registry with package provenance.
      3. Creates and pushes a release Git tag (e.g. v0.1.1).
    • If no version bump is detected, deployment is safely skipped.

How to Release a New Version

  1. Bump the CLI version in your feature branch:
    npm version patch --workspace=packages/cli --no-git-tag-version
    # or: npm version minor --workspace=packages/cli --no-git-tag-version
  2. Commit and open a Pull Request to main.
  3. Once merged to main, GitHub Actions will build, test, publish to npm, and tag the release automatically.
