Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

A terminal picker that helps you resume the most recent Codex CLI, Claude Code, or Gemini CLI session for the current working directory.

Installation

From npm

npm install -g resumesx

From source

Usage

Quick Start

# Open the interactive picker (default)
resumesx

# Resume the most recent session without the picker
resumesx --last

# Limit how many sessions are loaded (default: 50)
resumesx --limit 10
resumesx -n 50

# Include sessions from other directories
resumesx --all

Smart Session Detection

  • Multi-Tool Support: Automatically detects sessions from Codex CLI, Claude Code, and Gemini CLI
  • Directory-Aware: Filters sessions to the current directory and its subdirectories (use --all to include everything)
  • Performance Optimized: Loads only the most recent 50 sessions by default for instant startup

Enhanced User Experience

Data Sources

The tool reads session history from the following locations:

  • Codex CLI: ~/.codex/sessions/**/*.jsonl
  • Claude Code: ~/.claude/history.jsonl
  • Gemini CLI: ~/.gemini/tmp/<sha256(cwd)>/chats/*.json

All sessions are automatically filtered to match your current working directory (including subdirectories).
