Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Rewind View

Rewind View is a local search and browsing tool for your AI assistant sessions.

It indexes sessions from Claude, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, and Antigravity into a local SQLite database. You can search old transcripts, browse session details, inspect usage, estimate costs, and create handoff bundles when you want to continue work in another assistant.

Everything stays on your machine by default. Rewind stores its data in ~/.rewind/data/rewind.sqlite.

Screenshots

Quick start

npx rewind-view

On the first run, Rewind will:

  • Find supported assistant session files on your machine.
  • Parse and index the sessions.
  • Store the index in ~/.rewind/data/.
  • Open the web UI in your browser.
  • Keep the local server running until you press Ctrl+C.

Install

Run with npx

npx rewind-view

Install globally

npm install -g rewind-view
rewind

Run from source

git clone https://github.com/sidmanale643/rewind-view.git
cd rewind-view
npm install
npm run rewind

What you can do

  • Search transcripts across Claude, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, and Antigravity.
  • Browse session transcripts in a local web UI.
  • Filter sessions by provider.
  • Copy resume commands for providers that support them.
  • View a dashboard of sessions, models, token usage, and repo activity.
  • Estimate costs from indexed token usage.
  • Create handoff bundles for Claude or Codex.
  • Use CLI search and grep when you want results in the terminal.

How it works

Rewind discovers session files from each supported provider and parses them into a common session format. It stores session metadata, transcript text, usage data, and source file information in SQLite.

Search uses SQLite FTS5, so it works locally without sending your transcripts to a remote service. Rewind tracks source file size, modified time, and content hashes so later runs can skip sessions that have not changed.

Commands

Running rewind with no arguments starts the local web UI.
