roweather-radar
Rain radar in your terminal. A small package that runs the radar command of roweather.
npx roweather-radar # radar around you (location guessed from your IP; asked if that fails)
npx roweather-radar Manchester # around a place
npx roweather-radar --km 600 # a wider map (50 to 1500 km)
npx roweather-radar i # install the command globally (short for "install")
npx roweather-radar uninstall # remove itThe same thing is available as npx roweather radar.
It shows the latest radar frame (RainViewer, up to about 10 minutes old) as a coloured map with coastlines and country borders under the rain, then tells you the rain at your spot and the nearest rain, in words. Without colour support (or with --no-color) it draws letters instead: . light, o moderate, O heavy, # very heavy, + you.
Radar shows rain detected in the air. A blank area means no rain detected or no radar coverage. Rain rates are radar estimates and read high in hail.
While it downloads, a small rain animation plays (--no-anim to turn it off).
Full options: npx roweather-radar --help. Needs Node 18.17 or newer. Publish roweather first, then this package (it depends on roweather).
