Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

RVC-Web-Runtime

Browser-based RVC (Retrieval-based Voice Conversion) inference engine powered by ONNX Runtime Web (WASM).

Installation

npm install rvc-web-runtime

Usage

import { createRVC, runPipelineInWorker, prepareInputAudio, isWorkerSupported } from "rvc-web-runtime";

// Check browser support
if (!isWorkerSupported()) {
  throw new Error("Web Workers not supported");
}

// Create runtime context (zero-config: uses jsDelivr CDN)
const rvc = createRVC();
// Or self-hosted: createRVC({ assetBaseUrl: "https://your-cdn.com/rvc/" })

// Prepare audio (decode + resample to 16kHz)
const { audio: audioData, sampleRate } = await prepareInputAudio(audioFile);

// Run inference in a Web Worker
const result = await runPipelineInWorker(
  rvc,
  {
    model: modelFile, // .onnx or .pth file
    contentVec: hubertFile, // ContentVec ONNX model
    rmvpe: rmvpeFile, // RMVPE ONNX model
  },
  audioData,
  sampleRate,
  {
    onEvent: (event) => {
      if (event.type === "stage") {
        console.log(`Stage: ${event.stage}`);
      } else if (event.type === "chunk") {
        console.log(`Chunk ${event.current}/${event.total}`);
      }
    },
  },
  {
    timeout: 300000,
    pitchShift: 0,
    medianFilter: true,
  },
);

// Download result
if (result.outputWav) {
  const url = URL.createObjectURL(result.outputWav);
  const a = document.createElement("a");
  a.href = url;
  a.download = "output.wav";
  a.click();
}

API Documentation

See the full API documentation for detailed reference.

Features

  • Full browser inference: No server required
  • Web Worker execution: Off main thread, non-blocking UI
  • ONNX Runtime Web: WASM + SIMD + multi-threading backend
  • Complete pipeline: Feature extraction → Pitch estimation → Voice synthesis
  • F0 median filtering: Pitch smoothing for better audio quality
  • Long audio support: Automatic chunking and crossfade merging
  • TypeScript: Full type definitions included

Browser Support

  • WASM SIMD: Chrome 91+, Firefox 89+, Safari 16.4+
  • Multi-threading: Requires COOP/COEP headers + SharedArrayBuffer
  • Web Workers: All modern browsers

Note on cross-origin loading: the worker is fetched via CORS and loaded through a same-origin Blob URL, so it can be hosted on any CDN that sends Access-Control-Allow-Origin: * (jsDelivr does by default). If your page uses a Content-Security-Policy, allow worker-src 'self' blob:; and add the CDN origin to connect-src. See the API docs for details.
