Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

sanity-plugin-oneline-pt

v1.0.2

Published

A custom input component for single line Portable Text

Readme

sanity-plugin-oneline-pt

A one line portable text input. Support decorators, annotations and inline objects.

This is a Sanity Studio v3 plugin.

Installation

npm install sanity-plugin-oneline-pt

Usage

Add it as a plugin in sanity.config.ts (or .js):

import {defineConfig} from 'sanity'
import {oneLinePortableText} from 'sanity-plugin-oneline-pt'

export default defineConfig({
  //...
  plugins: [oneLinePortableText()],
})

Then, in your schema simply add the new option to your Portable Text field:

defineField({
  name: 'myField',
  type: 'array',
  title: 'My Field',
  of: [
    defineArrayMember({
      type: 'block',
      options: {
        oneLine: true,
      },
    }),
  ],
})

Preview

If you need to use a field with the plugin enabled for your document previews, you can do this in your schema:

import {defineType, defineField} from 'sanity'
import {ptStringPreview} from 'sanity-plugin-pt-string'

export default defineType({
  name: 'myType',
  type: 'document',
  fields: [
    // field defined as above
  ],
  preview: ptStringPreview('myField'),
})

Configuration

Configure the field just as you would any other Portable Text block. Note that any unsupported configuration (lists, multiple styles, additional block types) will simply be ignored and removed from the schema by the plugin.

The same default decorators and annotations will be used as per the standard Studio Portable Text editor.

defineField({
  name: 'myField',
  type: 'array',
  title: 'My Field',
  of: [
    defineArrayMember({
      type: 'block',
      of: [] // define an array of inline objects
      marks: {
        annotations: [] // define an array of annotations
        decorators: [] // define an array of decorators
      },
      options: {
        oneLine: true,
      },
    }),
  ],
})

Usage

The data is output as a Portable Text block. You can use the PortableText component from @portabletext/react to render it in React:

import {PortableText} from '@portabletext/react'

const PortableTextParagraph = (props) => {
  return <PortableText value={props.value} />
}

If you want to customize the rendering of the blocks, you can pass a components prop to the PortableText component. Following is an example of how to render your content within a h2 tag:

import {PortableText} from '@portabletext/react'

const components = {
  block: {
    normal: ({children}) => <p>{children}</p>,
  },
}

const PortableTextHeading = (props) => {
  return <PortableText value={props.value} components={components} />
}
