Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

sc-prepare-next

Small TypeScript helper that starts a Next.js development server from an Electron main process and adjusts exported renderer paths in packaged apps.

Requirements

  • Node.js 22.12 or newer
  • Electron 42–44
  • Next.js 15.5.24 or 16.x

Installation

npm install sc-prepare-next

Electron and Next.js are peer dependencies and must be installed by the app.

Usage

import { prepareNext } from "sc-prepare-next";

await prepareNext("./src", 4444);

The development server listens only on 127.0.0.1 and the promise resolves after the port is ready.

npm run build
npm audit
