Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

screenkite

CLI for ScreenKite. An agent can read a shared recording and, on macOS, edit a project in the installed app.

npx screenkite@latest share context https://www.screenkite.com/en/share/<uuid>

The first 100 anonymous requests need no account. Run npx screenkite login for unlimited fair use.

Install

The npm package ships macOS binaries for arm64 and x64 in one tarball. Other platforms print dependency_missing.

Run screenkite native-help for the native usage text. Native forwarding is macOS only. Other platforms print a dependency_missing error.

Every owned command accepts --json. Errors go to stderr as {"error":{"code","message","next"}}.

Auth

  • Loopback OAuth (PKCE S256 + state) on 127.0.0.1.
  • Device code (--device, or automatic when there is no TTY, SSH_CONNECTION / SSH_TTY, or a non-mac host without DISPLAY).
  • SCREENKITE_TOKEN — used exclusively when set.

Credentials: ~/.screenkite/credentials.json (mode 0600; Windows ACL via icacls). Device id: ~/.screenkite/device.json.

Bearer tokens are sent only to https://agent.screenkite.com. Redirects to cloud/proxy URLs strip Authorization.

Local build

Run bun run build on macOS to compile the npm release set (darwin-arm64 and darwin-x64). Darwin binaries are ad-hoc signed and verified with codesign. Linux and Windows hosts can build a local binary with --host or an explicit target name.
