Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Turn your Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode usage into a shareable receipt

showmytokens

Turn your AI coding usage into a shareable receipt at showmytokens.com.

npx showmytokens login

That opens your browser to connect this machine, offers optional Claude Code hooks for automatic syncing, then uploads your usage. Claude Code is the only supported tool for now; Codex, OpenCode and others are coming later. Your card appears at showmytokens.com/<your-handle>.

Commands

| Command | What it does | | --- | --- | | login | Connect this machine (device login in your browser) and sync. | | sync [--dry-run] | Upload everything now. --dry-run prints what would be sent and sends nothing. | | status | Show what is connected. | | logout | Remove the hooks and the saved login, and revoke this machine's token on the server. |

Automatic sync

If you say yes at login, two Claude Code hooks keep your card fresh: Stop (after Claude finishes a response, at most every 10 minutes) and SessionEnd (when a session ends). Routine syncs send only the last 7 days; login, sync and one sync a day send everything. Automatic sync is available for Claude Code only.

What it reads and what it sends

It reads your local Claude Code usage logs (~/.claude/projects, or CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR). Codex and OpenCode readers exist but are experimental: they only run if you pass --source=codex,opencode.

It sends per-day counts only: messages, sessions, longest session length and token totals per model, plus a random id for this machine so several machines add up correctly.

It never sends prompts, replies, code, file names or project paths. Run sync --dry-run to see the exact payload. The whole script is one readable file.

Several machines

Each machine keeps its own numbers on the server and they add up, so using a laptop and a desktop on one account gives you the combined total. The machine id lives in ~/.showmytokens/device-id and survives logout.

Environment

  • SHOWMYTOKENS_ORIGIN: point at a self-hosted deployment.
  • CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR, CODEX_HOME, OPENCODE_DATA_DIR: non-default log locations.

Requires Node 18 or newer. Independent project, not affiliated with Anthropic.
