Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

One-line installer for Wingman, the desktop companion for Claude Code and Codex.

npx -y sidekick-widget            # download the latest release, install Claude Code hooks, launch
npx -y sidekick-widget unsetup    # remove the hooks (the app stays; quit it from the tray)

# macOS without npm (installs a portable Node into Wingman's folder if none is found):
curl -fsSL https://wingman.sidekick-ads.com/releases/install.sh | bash

install.sh and install.js (this launcher) are published to the release feed by scripts/publish-local.sh / the release workflow next to latest.json.

No dependencies. The launcher fetches latest.json from wingman.sidekick-ads.com/releases, checks its ed25519 signature and the archive's sha256, unpacks the app into /Applications (macOS; ~/Applications when the account cannot write there), %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Wingman (Windows) or ~/.local/opt/wingman (Linux) and starts it with --setup. After that the app updates itself.

Publishing: bump version, then npm publish from this folder.
