Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

React_Popover

A React Popover component that adds an overlay but highlights the anchor element

NPM Package: https://www.npmjs.com/package/simple-react-popover

Dependencies

  • Node v8+ and NPM

Starting it up

  • npm install to install any other necessary dependencies
  • npm run build exports storybook as a static app to the public folder
  • npm start will start up storybook locally to demo the component
  • npm test runs the unit tests
  • npm run deploy deploys the latest to the example on zeit

Any push to github will trigger a Travis build, which will update the npm package and deploy the latest version to now here: https://reactpopover.murrayleroux.now.sh

Usage

Install using npm i simple-react-popover

API

  • anchor - Required. A React Ref to attach the Popover to.
  • direction - Required. String. One of ['top', 'bottom', 'left', 'right']
  • open - Required. Boolean. Is the Popover showing or not.

Conventions

  • Tests are located in the same folder as the component tested and has .spec.js extensions
  • Stories are located in the same folder as the component described and has .story.js extensions
