Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

📋 smart-summary-manual

The Problem

You want to use AI to summarize your code changes or generate a Daily Standup report, but you don't want to mess with API keys, or you already have an AI subscription that you want to use instead.

The Solution

smart-summary-manual is an interactive CLI tool that automatically gathers your messy code changes, wraps them in a highly optimized "Senior Developer Prompt", and magically copies the entire thing directly to your clipboard!

All you have to do is open ChatGPT and press Ctrl + V!

Usage

1. Installation

npm install -g smart-summary-manual

2. Run the Tool Go into any project where you have made changes and run:

smart-summary

3. Choose your Mode The terminal will ask you what you want to gather:

What code changes would you like to gather?
--- GIT MODES ---
1. Current uncommitted/unsaved changes
2. The single last commit
3. ALL commits made today (Daily Standup Report)
--- NON-GIT MODE ---
4. Summarize all files I saved in the last 24 hours

Enter a number (1-4):

4. Paste! The tool will instantly copy everything to your clipboard. Just go to your favorite AI website and paste!
