Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

SNI Passthrough Backend

tls.Server, https.Server Compatible
X-Real-IP work-around for TLS-SNI (Layer 4) Proxy

Usage

Designed to work with sni-passthrough

Back-end Example:

Supported Properties

  • remote{Address,Port,Family}: intercepts net.Socket._handle.getpeername()

Explanation

Before:

[Remote]  --TLS->  [Front-end]  --TLS->  [SNI-1]

Front-end distributes connection to back-ends according to TLS Server Name
In SNI-1, remote address is front-end's address, not good for applications

After:

[Remote]  --TLS->  [Front-end]  --iPkt/TLS->  [SNI-1]

iPkt is injected as the first packet to SNI-1, containing some payload.
[SNI-1] intercepts and processes iPkt, then proceed as if normal TLS connection

Internally, hijacks tls.Server's `'connection'` event

Testing

  1. npm install
  2. Generate key, self-sign certificate
  3. Put them at key.pem, cert.pem
  4. In terminal, run mocha
