Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

sooth

v1.0.0

Published

Protocol-neutral Sooth Question Format (SQF) parser and generator

Readme

sooth

Protocol-neutral Sooth Question Format (SQF) utilities. Version 1.0.0 is a breaking, utility-only change pending release. This cleanup does not publish it.

Package names

The npm package stays sooth. Alpha uses the workspace alias @sooth/sdk with "@sooth/sdk": "workspace:sooth@*". The SQF subpath stays sooth/sqf (@sooth/sdk/sqf in Alpha).

Usage

import { generateSQF, parseSQFSafe, type SQFData } from 'sooth/sqf';

const data: SQFData = {
  question: 'Will X happen?',
  rule: { description: 'Resolves YES if X.', source: 'example' },
  event: 'EV-1',
  category: 'tech',
  meta: { icon: 'x' },
};

const text = generateSQF(data);
const parsed = parseSQFSafe(text);

Exports

Both sooth and sooth/sqf export:

  • parseSQF(raw): parse tagged question text into SQFData.
  • generateSQF(data): generate tagged question text.
  • extractQuestion(raw): return the question or the original text.
  • parseSQFSafe(raw): preserve plain text with an empty rule.
  • Types: SQFData, SQFRule.

SQF supports §question, §rule, §event, §category, and §meta sections. Rule fields remain generic strings. These helpers format text; they do not validate settlement rules or decide outcomes. Existing SQF behavior is preserved. There are no runtime dependencies or network calls.

Migration from 0.x

All sooth/core subpaths, contract ABIs, contract helpers, client classes, registry types and snapshots, v1 registry loading, soothcli, and scenarios are removed. The package does not provide a Factory protocol client.

Consumers of sooth/sqf keep the same API. Consumers of removed exports must retire those workflows or use their own protocol integration before upgrading. Alpha coordinates this removal separately, including retired Demo/Mobile and legacy Market paths. Historical release records remain in CHANGELOG.md and DECISIONS.md.

Development

Use Node.js 20+ and the pinned pnpm version in package.json.

pnpm install --frozen-lockfile
pnpm check
pnpm typecheck
pnpm test
pnpm build
pnpm test:package
