Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Build your developer profile with AI. One command, zero friction.

Discover your Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor stats, then see how you rank — and get matched with roles through Standout.

Challenge a friend

Every wrapped ends with a share block (auto-copied to your clipboard) that carries your personal challenge code:

beat me → npx standout beat-victor-x7k2

Running someone's beat-<code> gives you the full wrapped plus a head-to-head versus card against their score, and lands you on their challenge tally. Codes are stable — an old screenshot always points at that person's freshest score.

Link your Silicon card

npx standout link-<code> (the personalized command shown on your Silicon card's builder-score sheet) ties the run to your card: your score prints on the card automatically and a fresh pack reveal plays on your phone.

Share from your phone

The run ends with a QR code in the terminal: scan it and your wrapped opens on your phone with the native share sheet (the card image attached) one tap away. Or press x to post to X, l to post to LinkedIn (both pre-filled), or enter to open your wrapped in the browser.

Other flags: --local / --no-upload renders everything on-device (nothing uploaded, no account, no code/QR); pass a job slug to apply directly (npx standout <job>); --chat builds a full profile interactively.

Runs monthly, automatically

After a full run, standout schedules a monthly refresh so your stats never decay — local session logs only cover ~30 days, and the refresh keeps your full history intact. It fires at the first hour your machine is awake in each new month (an hourly launchd/cron tick guarded by a month stamp in ~/.standout/last-refresh, so sleeping through the 1st never skips a month). Uses launchd on macOS and cron on Linux; not available on Windows.

Scheduled runs are unattended: they upload your refreshed stats and write the wrapped link to the log (~/Library/Logs/standout.log on macOS, ~/.standout/standout.log on Linux) instead of opening a browser.
