Star Wars Galaxies is currently available for download for $19.99 (for the standard client version). If you want to check out the expansion, the Jump to Lightspeed will be available on August 20th. SS: The Jump to Lightspeed expansion will be coming to the PC later in August. As many of you know, we've been a little bit hush-hush about a lot of our plans, but we wanted to let everyone know about one of the biggest (and most fun) game changes the Jump to Lightspeed expansion will include: We're going to be adding real-time space combat to Star Wars Galaxies. This is something we've been pretty tightly guarding, because it's a huge and fairly technical change that will require some specialized code and a significant amount of new content. In fact, we've been working on it for almost a year now. The Jump to Lightspeed team has been working closely with a team of fantastic developers from the Wing Commander series, but the game is still going through a lot of design and development testing.

To make sure we got this right, we decided to offer the expansion early to those of you who had purchased the game before the change went public. We think this will answer any concerns our players might have about the change before they even get to try out the new features.
