Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Why?

As awesome as Stimulus is, using Typescript with Stimulus can be a bit repetitive.

A single value, target and outlet means we might need to declare a bunch of properties.

Stimulus Typescript uses the powerful type juggling capabilities of Typescript to automatically infer all these properties!

Usage

  1. Declare values as usual

     const values = {
       name: String,
       alias: Array<string>,
       address: Object_<{ street: string }>
     }
  2. For targets and outlets, instead of an array of strings declare a map of names to types

     const targets = { form: HTMLFormElement, select: Target<CustomSelect> }
     const outlets = { "user-status": UserStatusController }
  3. Derive from Typed controller and you're all set!

     class MyController extends Typed(Controller, { values, targets, outlets }) {
       // Look Ma, no "declare ..."
       foo() {
         this.nameValue.split(' ')
         this.aliasValue.map(alias => alias.toUpperCase())
         this.addressValue.street
         this.formTarget.submit()
